It's been a long old road since we published the first exclusive shots of the Nokia 5800 back in August 2007, but now the phone formerly known as the Tube is only days from a UK launch. In fact, we can reveal that it will go on sale Friday 23rd January!
To coincide with the launch, Nokia has decided to also drop the XpressMusic moniker and will be selling this gem of a device simply as the Nokia 5800.
It'll be available from 10am in Nokia's two flagship stores in Regent Street and Heathrow Terminal 5, as well as from Nokia's online store. The price is £249 SIM free, and you can pre-order it today if you want to get a head start on other shoppers.
What makes the 5800 XpressMusic so special? Well, for starters it's Nokia's first proper touchscreen phone, toting a 3.2-inch 640 x 360 pixel display and a new version of the S60 interface revamped specifically for touch. Then there's GPS, a Carl Zeiss optics-equipped camera and of course the all-you-can-eat Comes With Music download service.
With only a short few days left until the 5800 XpressMusic touches down, why not get reacquainted with its best features, courtesy of our previous coverage:
