The Nokia Blog spotted that Nokia has apparently decided to give the N79 a new coat of paint, offering up a new version in the always fashionable black on its Nseries website. The new edition's finish is dubbed "Petrol Black", and it's compatible with three new X-press-on swappable covers: Grey, Steel Grey and Deep Plum. No word on when this goes on sale yet.
Nokia is the world's biggest computer manufacturer
According to All About Symbian, Nokia now boasts a 14 percent market share in the computer biz, making it the biggest computer maker in the world. While Nokia's description of its high-end smartphones as "multimedia computers" has often attracted criticism, blogger Tomi T Ahonen points out that the Nokia N82 is just as powerful as a Cray 2 supercomputer - so there!
Google Maps for mobile updated!
GPS-equipped Noketeers who use Google Maps should now find it easier to locate nearby businesses. Unwired View reports that the latest update for the mapping app now lets users search for a particular business by typing in the name. Older versions simply searched for an address containing any search terms, but now if you key in "starbucks" you'll get directions to the coffee-pushing corporation's nearest outlet.
Nokia BH-904 Bluetooth headset incoming
The Consumer Electronics Show is in full swing Stateside, and Nokia used the expo of all things gadgety to launch a shiny new Bluetooth headset. Symbian Freak reports that the BH-904 delivers squeaky clean call quality, even when you're using it on a busy street or inside a speeding car. It's all thanks to advanced noise cancellation tech. It can also connect to two devices simultaneously, and offers five hours of use on a 15-minute charge.
