A month after its release, the Nokia N79 gets primped and pumped, Nokia has issued a firmware update for the super-slider. This isn't a slight upgrade to the baby of the Nseries range but something a little more major, so you'd do well to update before the weekend kicks in.
As well as squashing a bushel of bugs, there are two new features added that definitely help strengthen the case for updating, the first being the addition the latest version of N-Gage, so now even N79 owners can play games like Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. The other big change is a little more business focussed, being the latest version of Mail for Exchange, which promises to push email to your Nok with a little less overhead.
That's not the end of the updates as this isn't a slight update, this is one mighty barrel-load of updates that has to make you think why didn't Nokia simply hang back and wait to release this device? If you're one of those who like to look into barrels to see if whether it's worth scrapping will find the full changelog over here (courtesy of those good guys at S60 Inside).
Users who are ready for the update can update their Nok (providing they have a decent 3G or Wi-Fi signal) by pressing *#0000# from the standby screen to get into the Firmware OTA service.
