Nokia N82 firmware update

The Nokia N82 has today received a firmware that takes it up to version 3.1. This is something of a major update as it weighs in at a hefty 118MB. Get full details after the jump.

It's been revealed over at All About Symbian that Nokia Software Updater now has a firmware update, version 31.0.016 available for download for the Nokia N82.

Considering the size of this download, there doesn't seem to be any major changes to the platform, with mostly bug fixes  being reported. As soon as we get hold of the changelog we'll let you know. In the meantime, you can get hold of the update from the Nokia Software Updater.

The Nokia N82 supports User Data Preservation (UDP) but as always, we recommend that you back up all your data and store is someplace safe before cracking on with the update.

    I had a problem in latest step after downloading 125 MB for updating my N82 phone. Update is failed in this step?! why?

    Please help me to update it.

    I’m not getting access to this through the Software Updater.

    I’ve got product code 0558752, which I thought was the non network specific one…

    I just updated my phone this afternoon. So far everything done well. But after i push the option button on the menu field, i notice some extension command appear like this: & qtn_menu_open: Before, the menu directly show ‘Open’. I try to restore my phone using my backup and every running back on the right track…Fheeewwww!

    My opinion

    1. Running Nokia Software Updater under vista OS seem like incompatible. Try it under xp OS.
    2. Try to prepare more than one backup before updating the firmware. Sometimes the backup won’t work.

    hi thanks for that but i try updated from v11 to v21 by cable connecting to my phone but during update my phone it restart i dint touch anything but it 22 secound lift to finished complete but my phone restart so now my phone it never star up i try -hold green + then on but it nothing happen i try to – green + red +camera button together
    and on button but my phone never ever on it look like my phone is dead this is a second phone i try it the same i send back to o2 to replacement this is a second time it happen to me 22 second lift before complete it lose connection between phone and my computer
    what is you idea i don’t know what can i do how to fix before send back to company i would like fix my self before changing the phone
