Vodafone is about to start selling the Nokia 5800 Blue as part of an exclusive deal. Details are already on the company's website with some fantastic offers in place, including getting your hands on this multimedia marvel for free!

We're not sure if the units are shipping now but it's well worth checking out what's on offer.

The Nokia 5800 is available online as part of a number of tarrif plans, the cheapest of which is just £20 a month with the handset thrown in for just £98. However, to get your hands on this beauty for free, you'll need to bump up the package just a fiver, to £25 a month for which you'll also get 600 minutes a month and unlimited texts. The contract is for a minimum of 18 months.

As part of the contract you'll not only get the Nokia 5800 in blue, a deal exclusive to Vodafone, you'll also be eligible to three month's free Sky+ TV too,

For those who still haven't got to grip with the Nokia 5800 yet, it has a 3.2megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics that comes with auto-focus and flash. There is Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with Nokia Maps already bundled in.

Well, not that exclusive, since I picked up an unlocked blue 5800 XM from the Nokia shop in Regent Street, London (contract free) for £249, and they threw in a free pair of headphones.

Actually thinking about the exclusive offer above, it’s a complete rip off if one does the maths.

    £20 x 18 = £360
    +
    £98
= £458 (an unlocked phone from Nokia costs £249), and then you can use your existing contract.

    Or

    £25 x 18 = £450

Why would anyone see an advantage in either package.

@Mike – it’s not a rip off because you’re getting a bundle of free calls and texts within that budget. Imagine buying the phone for a one off price of £250 and then, if you’re on PAYG, add on the amount that you would actually use in 18 months and add it on. I’ll assure you now that it will be a heck of a lot more than paying £20/25 a month for an 18 month contract – you do the maths : )
