Nokia 5800 – Sports Tracker now available

If you don't know, Nokia Sports Tracker is a GPS-based tracking system that runs on Nokia smartphones. Information such as speed, distance and time are updated and stored in your training diary, so you can keep tabs with your progress. You can even store your workout details and favourite routes on the Sports Tracker website for others to use. The curious thing is, the Sports Tracker site doesn't carry the download but you can get, courtesy of the Symbian Guru.

Nokia 5800 – latest apps

The Symbian Guru has been rather busy getting us the lowdown on Sports Tracker, but he's still taken time to look at a host of new widgets that have just been released for the Nokia 5800. We've already covered JoikuSpot, but they've got great coverage of a couple of apps we'll be getting our hands on soon enough, including SMS Spam Manager and BuddyCloud. You can check out the other apps here.

Play Doom on your Nokia 5800

You know when a phone as reached mass adoption when Doom suddenly pops up and starts being played on the daily commute. Sure, the game is showing it's age now but as a benchmark of how a great game handles on the Nokia 5800 it's still the best around. The guys over at Into Mobile have been getting excited about it and even offer a link to download it. Read the story here.

Nokia Big Thinkers project

One of the reasons we like Nokia so much has to be the constant need to improve things, which is something you don't see so openly endorsed by other big firms. Take the IdeasProject for instance, it brings the world's 'big thinkers' together to help explain what they get up to and how that can impact on us mere mortals. It's a great way of getting people to look at technology is a whole new way. Thanks to the Symbian Freak for tipping us off to this one.
