In the flurry of announcements this morning from Nokia, it may have been easy to miss one small factoid hidden among the many but one thing didn't escape our eagle eyes and that was a statement of intent with regards the Nokia N97. That statement was regarding it's eventual launch date - and it seems the wait is nearly over.
When Nokia announced its Ovi Store first thing this morning, there was plenty of information to absorb about what the store would and wouldn't have but one device popped us as being the first smartphone to fully support the service - the Nokia N97. While all other Nokia devices will need to download an Apps Store updatem the Nokia N97 wil come with the application already built-in.
However, that wasn't the only salient point on offer, as the release also announced, well, the Nokia N97's release date - it went: 'The Nokia N97, available in June, will be the first device to include the simple and easy-to-use storefront.' It's as close to being official as we're likely to get for some time.
OK, so we haven't got a proper date and this may only be a 'statement of intent' but if it's true then the wait is nearly over, good friends.
