The Nokia 5800 is a great device and makes the most of its touchscreen but people have been asking for more control over the Contacts bar. Well, one feature that has popped up is the addition of Facebook status details, so you need never feel alone ever again.
Sure, you can browse to Facebook but can you readily check on the status of your favourite friends? Well, this neat workaround certainly helps...
It’s a slow news day, so we’ve been looking at ways to improve the overall usability of the Nokia 5800, when the Symbian Guru came to our rescue with a great way to get Facebook status onto your Contacts bar.
It seems you’ll need to have your laptop handy to log into Facebook and find the 10-digit number at the end of their profile. Switching to your phone, you then need to browse to the site and use this number to help set up the account. One word of warning offered by the Guru, is that you need to be on the full desktop client of Facebook, not the mobile version, otherwise it won’t work.
It's not the cleanest of solutions but it's well worth trying out if you're a couple of favourite people you want to stay in touch with. Apparently, it'll also work for Twitter feeds. Thanks to the Symbian Guru for passing this on. Don’t forget to read the full details about Facebook and your Nokia 5800.
