Mother's, God bless 'em, what would we do without them? For starters we'd have to find another three letter word to put in that heart tattoo we had on a drunken night out in {fill in the blank].
We all love our mothers and want to spend time with them on that 'special' day of the year Hallmark chose for us. However, is it possible to get even more from the day by using your brand new Nokia 5800?
Of course it is, and here we'll show you how.
Now, we're not saying that all Mother's Day visits are a trial by fire (sorry Mum) but if you find you need a little help getting through it, here's how, with our Nokia 5800 survival guide to Mother's Day.
Step One: Getting there
When was the last time you regularly visited your mother? Was it back in your Uni days, skint, tired and with a bag full of washing? So, it's been a while since you visited your mother's house. So Nokia Maps 3.0 is a good start, as long as you know here address. Simply type it in and you'll get directions to that place you used to call home!
Step Two: Flowers
Now it's customary to remember flowers and a card when visiting your mother this Sunday – it's her day after all! But you've forgotten them haven't you? Quickly download a Flower theme for your Nokia 5800 and make a big thing of it. You can even show her the phone but don't be too surprised when she says, 'So, you own a phone – do you know how to use it?'
Step Three: Keeping well
So far, so good. The flowers have got you in the house and you're talking to your mother. No doubt she'll want to make sure you're well and all in one piece – it's been a year after all. Why not impress her with X-ray Scanner, the fun way of showing that there are no broken bones!
Step Four: Catching up
You've been using the Nokia 5800 to take snaps and videos of all your friends and what you've been getting up to. So, why not show you're mother? PhotoFlow is a free app that can be found in the phones Download section that allows you to show just the pictures you want her to see. This means you don't have to scroll through them all or delete the 'private' ones before you get there.
Step Five: Getting out
The beauty of having Nokia Maps on your phone is that it works seamlessly with Friend View, which is a great way of finding out if friends are in the same area as you. It also means that you can check to see who else has gone back to the old town to visit their parents, making the perfect excuse to leave a little early – 'I'd agreed to meet up with {fill in the name}, as I know he's only here for today!'
OK, so not all families are this dysfunctional but just remember that you only have one mother, so treat her well this Sunday and pay her a visit. Either that or get a MUM tattoo...
