Nokia has made an updated version of Sports Tracker available for the Nokia 5800. Sports Tracker is the GPS-based utility that allows you to track speed, distance and times of your exercise sessions. You can even map in your favourite routes and upload them to the Sports Tracker site.

Now the Nokia 5800 comes with Sports Tracker, it’s bound to make the touchscreen phone even more desirable than before.

Sports Tracker is one of the hottest Nokia apps around and is bound to get even more users now that it seems full support for the Nokia 5800 has arrived.

It seems an update for Nokia Sport Tracker is now available that takes full advantage of the Nokia 5800 and other Symbian S60 5th Edition phones, which means the Nokia N97 when it finally ships. The update makes the most of the touchscreen and improves stability.

It’s not been posted on the Sports Tracker site yet, nor on Beta Labs as far as we can see but if you’ve already installed version v1.85 it seems that you’ll be able to get an update to V2.05. However, Daily Mobile has a nicely warmed up thread all about users’ experiences.

Let us know if you’ve tried out Sports Tracker on your Nokia 5800, we’ve not had a chance to try it out yet but would love to know how it copes with the touchscreen and whether or not it enhances your workouts.

Installed it and did some runs with it. Here my observiations. The app works fine, but optimization to the device is missing. The N79 Active bundle works better. Review here: http://www.400days.net/?p=1193
