We knew the Nokia 5800 was big news but if you want to get your hands on the biggest one in the world you’ll need to hop over to Antwerp in Belgium, where it seems a 4-foot fully working version is in operation.

The concept uses iWindow, which is an interactive display. Find out more after the jump…

For the launch of the Nokia 5800 in Belgium, the Nokai Store in Antwerp thought they’d do things a little differently and have set up a huge interactive display that allows passersby to check out what the device has to offer.

It has been especially developed by a team of touchscreen specialists from the Visual Planet studio and set and managed by Create Multimedia. The company explains the tech behind the screen on its blog, saying

“Bypassers can control the mobile phone by touching the glass. Create Multimedia developed a Flash application similar to the phone’s interface. You can listen to music, look at maps, browse video’s, photo’s… The hardware we used was an iWindow Interactive foil combined with their unique daylight technology. This gave an awesome result even in bright sunlight. We also use the iWindow through glass sound system to play music on the street.”

What’s it all for you may ask? Well, it’s to showcase the features and functions of the Nokia 5800, showcasing the larger-than-life Nok in the flesh. It seems passersby have been intrigued and excited in equal measure, proving that big really is beautiful in Belgium.

Create Multimedia has also posted a video of the screen in action on its blogsite.
