Want to know what the Nokia N97 will bring to your life when it ships next month? There are still no official review units out there but there seems to be an ever increasing number of videos looking at what the Nokia N97 has to offer. With that in mind, we've been out there fishing for the latest, greatest or simply the most informative and we think we've found them, so check out our Nokia N97 video hands-on roundup...

Now is the time to get really excited about the Nokia N97. Here in the UK it will ship for £499 (inc. VAT) SIM free from Nokia Online but with Vodafone and O2 (through Carphone Warehouse) already offering great deals, this has to be the phone of the summer.

We've pulled the latest Nokia N97 hands-on videos to be posted online, saving you the bother of having to go elsewhere. Enjoy...

This video from preetamrai is really quick but shows the White and Black off really well, something people have been wondering about of late.

GaMerZ84 has got this video hands-on of the Nokia N97 that really shows how quick the device switches between apps, and the overall speed of the phone. Surely, this will keep those who thought the Nokia N97 processor a little slow more than happy?

Want to check out the quality of the Nokia N97 video? Then here are a couple of videos from mytechnewsinfo, who have tested the Nokia N97 without the flash in action:

Having looked at numerous N97 videos in advance of the launch, a couple of things concern me.

    (1) In every video, the user ALWAYS experiences a problem using their finger to select/drag items on the touchscreen. It may only be every few “clicks” or whatever but you always see someone having to repeat the touch action as the first time it didn’t register. That worries me. Is the touchscreen interface awkward to use? Apple’s iPhone interface requires only a delicate touch.

    (2) Will the N97 have “theme effects” for such things as changing menus, auto-rotation etc? Again, the smooth and no-delay animations are something I really admire about the iPhone. I just worry the N97 won’t be as quick or as easy on the eye.

And I HATE Apple products but unless Nokia have really got this sorted, I can see myself being persuaded to leave the Nokia fold after some years.

I am getting more and more convinced of the N97. The user interface looks snappy enough, at least much more snappy than my old SE P990i. Also, I have been using the emulator of the N97 SDK and it really looks great. The browser is really good. Only the mail client is still text only but I heard that the S60v3 variant of the mail client already has HTML support so no doubt the N97 will get that soon to (if not already at delivery).

As for sensitivity of the screen, I suspect that the users in the videos always are trying to be extra careful. The first thing I will do is get myself a screen protector and be ‘less’ careful. Time will tell whether this is a good touch screen. I know at least that on my P990i, the touch screen is sometimes really problematic (inaccurate).

As for theme effects, I usually switch these off on any device/PC to improve responsiveness of the UI. I am more of a power user and one thing I hate is artificial delays in the UI because of transitional effects.
