Nokia Ovi Store has opened its doors allowing all Nokia users access to the full array of apps, utilities and personalisation tools that makes Nokia's Symbian S60 operating system so versatile. If you're new to the whole downloading experience then getting started with Nokia Ovi Store is your first steps to a whole new world of content. We're here to help you get the most from Ovi Store.
For some, Ovi Store has been a long time coming, as it brings all the best aspects of Nokia's S60 platform into one central location. However, to make the most of it on your Nokia phone you'll need to download and install the free app. Here is what you need to do to get started with Nokia Ovi Store.
Go to Download!
You can visit Ovi Store online but for the best experience you can download the Ovi Store mobile app direct to your phone. To do this simply by selecting the Ovi Store icon in the Download! section of your handset. You’ll need to press Update Content for it to appear.
Online
If the above doesn’t work, you can get to the Ovi Store by simply visiting store.ovi.com using your Nokia’s browser. When accessed, the Ovi Store has a header that is quite simple and allows you to scroll between FIVE different sections – Recommended, Applications, Games, Audio & Video and Personalisation.
Sign in
Before you can start to download apps and utilities, you'll need to be a member of Ovi Store. If you're already a member then simply sign in using the provided box. If this is your first time then you'll need to register.
Search
A Search button below the category section in Nokia’s Ovi Store allows you to type in keywords or app names and will take you direct to that page. When apps do start appearing on screen, you’ll notice that, along with the name and price, you’ll also see the star rating of the app, which gives you a reasonable indication of whether it’s worth downloading.
Personalise
You can prioritise/customise each section from the Options menu, choosing either to just look for Free Only, Paid Only, Most Popular, or just Most Recent. It’s a fairly basic breakdown but it feels solid enough to get you around the Ovi Store.
Download
Once you’ve found the app or utility you want on the Ovi Store, just hit the icon, then download and get ready to use your new application on your Nokia handset.
