Quite a disappointement after all this wait. Got the phone and it kept freezing or crashing several times despite the update of the software. Discovered that office: word, powerpoint and excel had to be purchased. What a con considering the price of the phone!

Is it true that the quick office integrated in the phone is a trial version and will not work after a few works unless you subscribe if you wnat to continue using it. If YES is this applicable to all regions.

Is it also true that the video playback doesn\'t support AVI files.

Having been a Nokia fan for some time I was keen to get my hands on the new N97.

I recieved it last Friday and eagerly opened up the box, inserted my SIM and the battery and turned it on. What an anti climax! The touch screen is not responsive at all, it seems to work when it wants to not when you want it to. The S60 operating system is so old and slow, it is painful to use. Soldiering on and desperate to find something I liked and could boast about to my iPhone toteing colleagues I set up the email application. Again, a dissapointment. Why on earth, have Nokia not provided HTML support for emails, yes there is an icon you can click which brings up a poorley formatted HTML version of the email.

Nokia appear to have blown thier budget on the design, the phones one good point. The slide out keyboard is a dream to use, it’s such a shame they didn’t invest more time and money on designing a better operating system.

Anyone who has used an iPhone, Palm Pre or Blackberry will sneer at the N97 in contempt. Nokia have insulted thier client base by releasing such a poor phone and will lose thousands of hardened Nokia fans to other mobile phone makers. I for one have already returned mine in exchange for a Blackberry.

Shame on you Nokia!

@Chizoba N97 comes with just the same array of tools as E Series but also adds stuff like N-Gage

N97 comes with Lotus Notes support: http://www.nokia.co.uk/find-products/all-phones/nokia-n97/specifications#software-app - what do other people think?

I was told in a Nokia store that if I want a phone that has blackberry access to business mails like lotus note that i should go for E-series, especially E75.
I was also informed that N-series is a multi media phone and not biz phones. I am kind of confused now

What is it like using the MS Office apps (especially Excel) on the N97? Is ther much delay inlaunching th epp...? Also, if I am surfing or using some other app and want to make a call or send a txt is there much delay waiting for the phone or message app to launch? I used to have Dopod 838 (WM 5.0)and found the delay in waiting for the phone features to load rediculous.Kev.

Only 2 plans though :(
both 24 months
Free phone for £40/month with unlimited texts/data and 1200 minutes talk
£150 for phone for £35/month with unlimited texts/data and 900 minutes talk

24 Months!!! Difficult to see how I won't be dying to get on to the next smartphone offering before that is up!
