Anthony – Thank-you Thank-you Thank-you !!!!! I had this issue for months on my E71 and thought it was a fault on the iPlayer!! But by switching the proxy off in RealPlater it did the trick!!

i had the same problem on my nokia n95 8gb, (general timeout). Followed the above steps still nothing. can anyone help?

I have the same problem over WiFi. My RealPlayer settings were proxy-off anyway.

I had the same problem on my N95. Seems I had once set the Realplayer connection options (In Tools->Settings->Applications->RealPlayer) to use 3G connection. In the Streaming settings, turn the proxy off, and set your default Network to be your Wifi

I have the exactly same problem Cath!
My Nokia E71 works with the iplayer over 3G but always time’s out when over WiFi. Same error message as you. I cant see why this should be happenning. Did you have any luck with it? If I find an answer I will post here.

I can download the iplayer and it seems to be working until i try to start a programme and then it goes to ‘buffering’ but takes ages without starting and then says ‘Error opening media, general timeout’ & never starts the programme. Do i have some settings wrong or something?! ‘Tis very annoying! Any ideas? Thanks

Any ideas why the N82 wont allow the download, yet its newer then the N95 / N95 8gb ?
