Nokia has been busy this morning, with the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic being the second phone announced to tempt us with. Very much in the style of the Nokia 5800, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a music and multimedia device that comes with a full touchscreen and a new Homescreen and Contacts Bar as part of the interface. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has been announced and is being lined up as the third touchscreen device of the year from Nokia. The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic was leaked back in April and even suggested a September launch, so the moles were close.
The screen of the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is a 2.9-inch touchscreen that makes the most of a brand New Homescreen, as well as Nokia's new Contacts Bar design, which allows you to have 20 of your friends instantly accessible at the touch of a button.
What's more, like the Nokia 5800, there is also a Media Bar that allows instant access to your multimedia, making this one of the most user-friendly Nokia phones to-date. There is no word as to the amount of internal memory but a 4GB microSD card ships with the handset and it can support a total of 16GB of external storage.
Other features include a 3.2-Megapixel camera with LED flash, Bluetooth and 802.11g Wi-Fi are fitted as standard. The built-in stereo speakers come with surround sound, so we're expecting something on a par, in music terms, with the Nokia 5800. Nokia hasn't announced whether the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic will ship with Comes With Music but you'll be able to access Nokia Music straight from the phone.
Incidentally, the Noki 5530 XpressMusic was the star of the Nokia Pass the Parcel that has recently been running on Nokia Conversations. While it's certainly no Nokia N900 this looks like being a great little addition to the touchscreen range.
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic ships in the third quarter of 2009 and has a suggested retail price of 199 Euros.
