The Nokia E72 has been announced and while on the surface it carries many of the trademark features and functionality of the Nokia E71, the Nokia E72 but now boasts a number of improvements to make messaging on the move a whole lot easier.

The look has been refined and you'll now find a slim 10mm body and an overall weight of 128g. However, it is inside that the main changes have been made with a 5-Megapixel camera now taking up pride of place.

The new Optical Navi Key allows for convenient and easy scrolling through menus, email messaging and maps. You'll still find A-GPS is supported and the use of Nokia maps comes as standard. For those who need to download or send large files, the HSDPA connection will now support speeds of up to 10.2Mbps

Nokia is also claiming that in-call audio has been improved and the overall sound quality of the device boosted.  The audio jack has also had the upgrade treatment with 3.5mm jack now appearing on the top of the device.

When it comes to making the most of messaging, Nokia Messaging is to be pre-installed and Nokia has made setup and use even easier than before. There is also support for Mail for Exchange and IBM Lotus Notes Traveler.

The Nokia E72 is expected to launch in Q3 of this year and has an estimated street price of 350 Euros.
