Ive also tried to capture images in my new n97….but then it seems useless…….on the left side of the image it appears light…….that makes the image unrealistic….

Yes, Nick and KJ are right.

the N97 flash wash the left side of the photo. Useless and incredibly poor design. Shame!

How can Nokia release such mess?

Besides, the phone is full ogf bugs and is rebooting twice a day for me…

photos in the ni with flash leave much to be desired. they have a haze on one half of the photo

I will tell you what the pictures are like in low light. The entire left side of the picture is completely washed out by the flash. I have tried every setting possible, but nothing seems to fix it. Unless you are taking all your pictures in daylight, this camera is made completely useless by Nokias incredibly stupid design. All-in-all, I have a list nearly 2 pages long (single-spaced) of problems with this phone. About 15-20% are hardware, the rest will probably eventually be fixed (hopefully) with software updates. I can’t wait for them to turn this alpha/beta product into a retail product after I’ve already bought it at retail price. I’m returning it and going back to my N95 8GB.

These are great pictures and show the N97 has a really capable camera – in good light settings. What are the shots like in low light, as this is something the N96 seemed to struggle with?

The photos really do look good,
Is there any spec as to what the range of macro works at ?
e.g 50mm away to 1mm etc then normal 50mm to infinity

Also are their different shooting modes / effects?

No one is ‘dissing’ anything, the 5800 is our primary phone. Secondary camera only came in to play with V20 of the 5th Edition OS and is something we’ve never used on our 5800.
