Ovi Store has been running for a little over a month and in that time the number of apps has risen from less than 1000 to close to 2000, according to Nokia. However, that's not the best news, as it looks like well over 50 per cent of users have downloaded content from Ovi Store. Find out the full details after the jump...
The Ovi Store may have gotten off to a rocky start but it's gathering pace now with plenty more content being added on a regular basis. A recent poll over on Nokia Conversations has discovered that 59 per cent of those polled have downloaded content from Ovi Store. It also revelwas that with 31 per cent have downloaded between 2-5 pieces of software, while six per cent have gone the whole hog and downloaded 10+ pieces of content.
In an article over on the Forbes website there is an interview with Nokia vice president of media Marco Argent, who informs them that up to 500 new pieces of content a week are being approved. Apparently, Nokia counts what's on Ovi Store by content, as it's not just apps that are being carried. At the moment, some 75 devices are supported by Ovi Store but this should ramp up over time along with the number of apps.
It's still early days for Ovi Store but with Nokia investing and users keen to get the best experience from the site, it looks like Ovi Store could be on a slow burn to success.
