The Nokia E72 was only announced last week and we're not going to be able to get our hands on it until later this year. One of the big things about the Nokia E72 is the boosted camera to 5-Megapixels. If you're curious as to the quality of images the E72 can take, then join us after the jump for what surely must be the first public images of the Nokia E72....

The Nokia E72 looks like being the true Nokia E71 killer. It takes everything the email messenger has made its own and ramps it up. The Nokia E72 is slimmer, lighter and packs in a more powerful spec, including a 5-Megapixel camera.

It won't ship until later this year but it that hasn't stopped settled individuals getting their hands on the device. David Chieng, Editor for HWM, Singapore’s top technology magazine has managed to get his hands on a Nokia E72 and has posted up sample images he's taken with the 5-Megapixel camera to his Flickr account. The Nokia E72 is running firmware dated June 5th, 2009, which is version 021.009. According to Into Mobile this is a solid piece of firmware, so the picture quality is stable and more than acceptable. We think they look great and pretty much stack up with our sample images of the Nokia N97 and Nokia E75 smartphones.
