Details are emerging that Nokia is developing its own full-length video content downloads service. Video is a natural fit on devices like the 3.5-inch screen of the Nokia N97. Nokia is believed to be working with partners including the BBC Worldwide, ITV, Sky and Paramount. The trial is believed to involve 500 normal users and 100 Nokia employees downloading a range of content using N Series devices. The trial will be able to gauge whether people are likely to use their 3G connection to download content or whether it's more a Wi-Fi enabled version that is an option.

According to the report on New Age Media, Nokia will be looking at different delivery methods, all with a view to discovering and overcoming any barriers that users may feel are currently restricting them from gaining quick and easy access to films.

The idea of video on demand is great, especially on the larger screen of the Nokia N97 and any future devices that Nokia puts together with video content firmly in mind. The fact that Nokia is seriously considering such a service means we can look forward to some great content appearing on our smartphones in the months ahead!
