The Nokia N96 has received a fairly hefty firmware update, taking it up to Firmware Version v30.033. This latest version not only deals with a host of bug fixes but also promises to deliver a more stable user experience. The Nokia N96 smartphone has received a major update taking it from Firmware Version v20.050  up to Firmware Version v30.033.

The update can be made Over The Air (OTA) or using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU) and while the Nokia N96 comes with UDP (User Data Preservation), so any updates shouldn't wipe your smartphone's memory, we also suggest making a backup just to be on the safe side.

    I updated my Nokia N96 firmware to Firmware Version v30.033 today, and there after my phone just goes of at random. How can I go about getting it fixed. Thanks a bunch.

    i have a nokia N96, have just tried to update the firm wear over the air and i have been told that no updates are available, i am running softwear version 11.018.

    any help on this would be appriciated.

    I’m so angry, straight after this update to Firmware Version v30.033 my camera does not work anymore, it just says “Camera feature not supported” How the hell do i fix this? Anyone?

    I just updated my N96 to 30,033 (RM-472), and completed successfully, but now my screen keeps
    flickering and it will not allowme to select anything. It keeps refreshing the screen all the time.
    Can anybody provide help as of how to fix this problem???

    i was on version 11.0, and updated it to version 12. now i want to do it to 30.033, but it doesnt let me do. when i search for updates through my fone it says no updates available, and then i installed nokia update installer to my pc, still even that doesnt find new updates. where can i find this one?

    well i have 6300 when i update my phone to 7.1 successfully . my screen keeps refreshing evry 5 sec. any one can help plz .

    I have just upgraded over the air to the latest version 30.*** and it went all fine ….but nothing special …that i can notice ……except for waste of time and effort

    if you have problems whit nokia n96 you can google ”reset nokia n96”if you do that your fone goes back to origenals setings the second time i did that all my songs and pics and contacts where gone but your fone wil work again good luck everybody

    I just updated my Nokia N96 to the latest updated version 30.033, which has caused my camera not working anymore. When I press the camera button it says (Camera Feature Not Supported) and the phone hangs untill restarted. I “Hard Formatted” my phone but the problem still persists. If anyone has any idea for fixing this problem then let me know. My camera is now not functioning in this new firmware.

    I updated my N96 and the phone is OK.No problems at all. The battery life is like 200% bigger (4 days normal use with BL-6F), and the speed in menu is bigger.

    i have the update & its GREAT!!!!except for the irksome woosh sound when i flip the panel.For my friends experiencing technical issues–

    1) U might find that it says “no updates available” when trying OTA.Ignore this & try 3-4 times,it works…it did for me.

    2)People experiencing camera issues,i didnt have the problem,but my colleague did & we got it fixed by changing the camera thread cable…& his camera works wayyy better than mine now.

    3)If the nokia mail doesn’t work,uninstall the mail,switch off the phone,take the battery out for a few mnts,then replace the battery,restart the phone &re-install the nokia mail application.This worked for me.

    For people who are really bugged with this firmware,try the hard reset of the phone after creating backup.This will get your phone back to the original firmware..though this exercise is not really recommended.

    If you are on firmware 11 and you get the message no updates are available then you will need to change your product code. You need to do a search for nokia service suite NSS.

    My N96 was bought in Malaysia and was on F11 after researching and changing the product code I am on 30.033 and not having any problems. Hope this helps

    I have just updated my N96 from 12 to 30, but after completetion of update I could only see a blank screen for some time which goes off after some seconds….. What I should do………….????

    Recently upated to v30 and immediately the camera stopped worrking, displaying the message “feature not supported” By changing the camera thread cable, will the camera function return? Could the new firmware be detecting an old or problematic thread cable and propmting this message??

    plz solve my problem i dnt use tv.out cable and its function in my n96 now i bought a new tv.out cable but i dnt used the feature … when i connect the cable i selected tv.out line thn suddenly my cell screen shows that use phone microphone why it happened ? plz tell me i wanna use this feature ;.; but during this problem i cant use it plz solve my problem i shall be very thankfull to u for tht … tc
