Cseries and Xseries phones on the way?

We know all about Nokia's Nseries and Eseries handsets, but if a couple of recent trademark applications from the mighty Finns are any indication, there are no less than two more letter-derived ranges on the horizon: the Cseries and Xseries. So what does the company have up its sleeves for these new product lines?

Firstly, we should make a disclaimer: filing a trademark application for a name doesn't necessarily mean that it will be used. These applications are merely an indicator that something might be in the works, not that there are definitely a pair of exciting new ranges prepped and nearly ready to hit the high street.

But since we're in a speculating kind of mood, what could they be? The Nseries covers Nokia's "multimedia computer" smartphone range, while the Eseries are business-centric phones. The name "Xseries" isn't a million miles away from "XpressMusic", so perhaps Nokia could have plans to unite a forthcoming selection of music and video-friendly handsets under this banner.

And "Cseries"? Well, how about "C" standing for "camera"? It's certainly not inconceivable that the big N could launch a range of non-smartphones featuring high quality cameras in the near future, so perhaps this is its name?

What's more, the name Booklet also seems to have been added to the roster of Nokia owned names. This is an odd one as it doesn't fit in the current naming scheme, so does Nokia have a little something tucked away up its sleeve? We'll have to wait and see but it all sound very interesting.

We're just chucking ideas out here, but what do you think Nokia might have in store for the Xseries and Cseries? Let us know in the Comments box below.
