The Nokia Surge is already sitting pretty on shop shelves in the US, but its European cousin, the slightly better-equipped Nokia 6760 slide, isn't due to launch for quite some time. In fact, the word on the street is that the messaging phone won't go on sale until October of this year.
Nokia's original press release earlier this week gave a "Q3 2009" release date for the 6760 slide, suggesting it would out in the next couple of months. However, Mobile Today claims the Carphone Warehouse will launch the phone in the UK some time in October (technically "Q4 2009"), which I suppose gives us a little more time to save up our pennies.
The Nokia 6760 slide will cost around €200 according to the press release, but it'll probably be available for much less on contract. In the US, the Nokia Surge costs the equivalent of about £50 - albeit for a phone with less storage and a 2-megapixel camera rather than the Nokia 6760 slide's 3.2-megapixel snapper.
