Thunderstorm Distance takes the mathematical legwork out of working out how far away a thunderstorm is, based on the time between lightening flash and rumble. It would be cooler if it did this using a combination of the camera light sensor and microphone, but the lower tech solution of tapping a key when you see the flash, then again when you hear the rumble works just as well.

Freeing you up from the limited choice of default alarm options, NiceAlarm will let you assign different alarm tones (MP3 files, WAVs, etc.) to all your appointments. You can tweak the duration and repeating intervals for reminder alarms and even set a 'deactivation code' that you need to laboriously key in to turn off the noise - perfect for when you absolutely, positively HAVE to get up.
