The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic has been announced and will be shipping in the UK under exclusive contract from the Carphone Warehouse. This 2.9-inch touchscreen device is only the third touchscreen device in the range and is aimed at the entry-level user. We've got our hands on one of the first devices in the country, so check out what this belting budget smartphone has to offer...
The Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is here and we've got one of the first handsets in the country. The box is a little smaller than some of the more recent Nokia launches. However, you'll still find the phone in the top, with the charger and battery in a separate compartment.

You get the usual documentation and there is also a short USB connector bundled in the box, used for syncing the phone to your laptop. Also bundled in the box comes in-ear headphones with a choice of three bud sizes - intended to be used with the Nokia 5530 3.5mm audio jack port.
The 2.9-inch screen is the main focus and the hardware function buttons on the front have been replaced with touch-sensitive ones instead. Weighing 107g, the design is boxier than the Nokia 5800, but fits neatly in the palm of your hand.
The differences with the Nokia 5800 are apparent in the spec as well as in the styling of this smartphone. For starters, you'll only find 70MB of internal memory, but you can supplement this with the 4GB microSD card that comes bundled (it'll take up to 16GB). Then there is the fact the 3.2-Megapixel camera comes with a single LED Flash instead of two.

We're looking forward to checking out the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic to see how this neat new phone stacks up against the more powerful Nokia 5800 and Nokia N97 device. In the meantime, check out our unboxing pictures and see for yourself what you get for your money.
