Nokia has released details that its email client, Ovi Mail, has surpassed over one million users. This landmark figure is great when you think the software has been designed specifically with handsets in mind. Find out all about Nokia's one million Ovi Mail users after the break...
Nokia's email client Ovi Mail has hit the one million users mark, which is pretty amazing considering it only started to roll out last year. According to Nokia, the inspiration for Ovi Mail came from the number of people, mostly in developing countries, without access to a PC. By placing the emphasis on handset email, the pressure to own a computer is reduced but still allows you to stay in touch.
Since its inception in December 2008, Ovi Mail is available in more than 180 countries and supports 20 languages. Perhaps the most interesting part of this announcement is that 650,000 of these accounts were actually created on device itself.
If you're not using Ovi Mail it's easy to set up and what's more it's free. You can set it up straight from your device and it comes with dedicated spam filters to stop unwanted email. To access Ovi Mail, simply go to the email setup wizard on your Nokia Series 40 device or Nokia S60 device such as the Nokia N97. Ovi Mail is also available on the web at OVI MAIL.
