The Nokia N97 has received a minor update, taking the firmware up to Version v12.2.024. This update seems to be rolling out across Europe and the United States and we're expecting other territories to follow suit in the next couple of days. Check out what can be expected from the Nokia N97 firmware v12.2.024 update...

The Nokia N97 has received another firmware update, taking the current device up to Firmware Version v12.2.024. There is no changelog for this update at the present time but from what is being discussed on several Nokia forums, you'll find that it's a minor update that adds a greater degree of stability to the OS, as well as solving a double of minor bugs.

You can download the update using the Nokia Software Updater (NSU), as we've found the updater forces you to use this route as there isn't currently an Over The Air (OTA) update available.

Check out how to get Nokia Firmware updates

The Nokia N97 has User Data Preservation (UDP) so you'll be able to carry out the Nokia N97 Firmware v12.2.024 update without needing to backup your device. However, we always suggest that it's a good idea to make a quick backup before you carry out any forms of update.

    Just did the upgrade.
It went much smoother than the previous one (which I had to redo).
Initial feeling is that some annoying bugs have gone away. Most noticeable some screen redrawing which I saw immediately. Maybe it’s snappier too. Or I just might imagine things..

Any indication that internet radio has returned?

  • Ash

so no Internet radio… no update yet, as a life long Nokia fan, I never thought I would ever say, I should have got an Iphone…

To be honest also as a life long Nokia fan i think that Nokia have launched a product that is well behind the market. It is a sad day when i admit that im sick of paying top dollar for a product that is slow and clunky. Nokia have constantly launched phones that are full of bugs and with half the spec of their competitors. We as loyal Nokia fans kept making excuses for them saying you are comparing apples with oranges. How many times has your Nokia crashed? And do you just accept that? Yes because we are not demanding quality which we should be. Nokia has lost a fan and also a customer. Simon i think you are right.

I’ve had more nokias than i can count but i really can’t see me ever getting another one. I don’t really think nokia has gotten any worse it’s just that there’s actually some proper competition in the smartphone market now.
