The Nokia N97 Mini looks set to upstage its larger namesake, the Nokia N97, as the device which seems to have jumped from rumour to rumour for the last few weeks has popped up on the FCC site. Will the Nokia N97 Mini be a super condensed version of the goodness delivered by the Nokia N97? Join us after the jump to find out...
The Nokia N97 Mini – or N97 Lite as it was called then – first popped up in June and since then we've had various rumours. Since then we've had a variety of sightings, but now it seems the Nokia N97 Mini is about to get an official launch as it has appeared on the FCC. If you want to launch any device into the US you need to prove it meets regulations, which is why the FFC (Federal Communications Commission) is there to make this information public. What's more, you can download the full documentation for the Nokia N97 MIni from the FCC.

In reality, there aren't a whole lot of facts to go on at the moment, other than a 1:1 scale drawing of the device has been posted. This does reveal that the Nokia N97 Mini isn't that much smaller than the Nokia N97. However, with the screen switching from 3.5-inch to 2.9-inch, it was never really going to be a big reduction in size, was it?
The screen isn't the only thing that’s dropped as you’ll find the internal memory has moved from 32GB to just 8GB, which is still more than enough for most people. We can expect there to still be a microSD slot in there to add more storage.
Is the Nokia N97 Mini starting to look like very much like an entry-level model, in the same vein as the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic being a budget version of the Nokia 5800? What do you think? Let us know in the Comments below.
