Nokia Booklet 3G to be in short supply The Nokia Booklet 3G and its full specification was announced last week at Nokia World 2009 and we're expecting it to land before the end of the year. However, it looks like only those who are quick off the mark and get a pre-order unit are likely to get their Nokia Booklet 3G this year. Find out why the Nokia Booklet 3G will be in short supply after the jump...

The Nokia Booklet 3G caused a major news storm when it hit less than two weeks ago. We knew it had been rumoured for months but when it finally landed we were all amazed with how good it looks.

However, it looks like anyone hoping to get their hands on the initial batch of the Nokia Booklet 3G mini-laptop will need to add their name to the pre-order list when it arrives. This is due to a story on Digitimes that claims that Nokia's initial batch of Booklet 3G devices will only be 100,000 units this side of Christmas.

It seems Nokia is using Compal, an ODM who in the past has made laptops for all the major manufacturers including HP and Dell, which the report claims has accepted an order for just 100,ooo units. If the report is correct, this could leave many potential customers waiting until the New Year before they'll be able to get their hands on the mini-marvel.

The same report also claims that Nokia will buy its 3G modules from Belgium-based Option Wireless Technology, with successive modules coming from China-based Huawei Technologies to the 3G module supplier list later, the sources added.

The Nokia Booklet 3G has an estimated price of 575 Euros (£500 inc. VAT) before subsidies and we're expecting to see it before the end of the year. So, will you be jumping the queues and placing a pre-order for the Nokia Booklet 3G as soon as it's announced? Let us know in the Comments below.
