Nokia E52 Camera Review The Nokia E52 is a Symbian S60 3rd Edition phone designed essentially to be an upgrade to the hugely successful Nokia E51. It brings with it a beefed-up battery life, a more up-to-date interface and a 3.2-Megapixel camera. We thought we'd check out whether the camera is as good as the rest of this smartphone. Check out out how we got on with our Nokia E52 camera review...

The Nokia E52 is part of the Nokia E Series class of smartphones aimed at those users who need to stay connected and deal with messages all day. After all, the E stands for Email, which gives you a good indication of what’s it’s best used for. However, with a 3.2-Megapixel camera on-board getting high-quality images from the Nokia E52 is a real possibility.

The camera has been designed to be used in Landscape mode, so you can make full use of the dedicated Capture button, as well as use the Volume controls as zoom functions. Due to the rather long body of the Nokia E52 the Capture button, which is quite central, does feel as though it's a little too far into the phone and could do with being moved slightly along for a more comfortable fit.

That said, the Nokia E52 does feel nicely balanced in the hand when you're taking pictures. With no auto-focus mode

The camera software is the same as found on other Symbian S60 3rd Edition smartphone, like the Nokia E75. So, you'll find the camera mode – either Still or Video – in the top left-hand corner, number of shots and current resolution in the left-hand bottom corner and the main controls down the right-hand side of the screen.

The 3.2-Megapixel camera isn't intended as a primary feature on this messenger phone, so only comes with a single LED. This means that while you'll be able to use it in most locations, you won't get the best results in dim-light locations.

In general use, though, image quality is excellent and we found the camera on the Nokia E52 a pleasure to use. It would seem that not only is the Nokia E52 the perfect upgrade to the Nokia E51 in terms of battery life and usability, but with the newly beefed-up camera, you'll be able to get even more from the belting little smartphone.
