Stat Clash: Nokia X6 v Nokia X3 The Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 are the first devices to launch as part of the Nokia X Series – a re-working of the hugely popular XpressMusic line of phones. Both share a great deal of similarities but are aimed at different markets with the high-end Nokia X6 being for the power user, while the Nokia X3 is very much an entry-level device. Check out how the Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 stack up against each other....

The Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 have been designed to bring style, music and greater social media functionality to your handset. Both handsets for the vanguard of the newly launched Nokia X Series and we think Nokia has played a smart move by realising that one solution can never suit all users, so have pitched the Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 at different ends of the consumer market.

For starters, the Nokia X6 is a S60 5th Edition device has a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 640 x 360-pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio. Other features include a 5-Megapixel auto-focus camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual-LED flash, integrated A-GPS with Ovi Maps 3.0 and Bluetooth. It is expected to cost around 459 Euros (£400 inc. VAT), when it launches later this year.

The Nokia X3 is an entry-level device with features that include Series 40 6th Edition,  3.2-Megapixel Full Focus (EDOF) camera, stereo FM Radio with internal FM radio antenna, Flash Lite 3.0 and Bluetooth. The Nokia X3 will also go on sale before the end of the year and have an estimated price of around 115 Euros (£100 inc. VAT).

However, let's see how the Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 stack up against each other:

Screen: As mentioned, the Nokia X6 pretty much comes with a state-of-the-art screen, packing in a 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen with 640 x 360-pixel resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio so you'll be able to load your favourite apps and widgets at the tap of a finger. The Nokia X3 may lack touchscreen capabilities, but the 2.2-inch display that is bright and sharp enough to highlight the latest apps on the device or on Nokia Ovi Store.

Size & weight: Having a smaller screen does mean the Nokia X6 is smaller and lighter than the Nokia X6. Measuring 96 x 49 x 14mm and weighing just103g, this is a punchy little small punching well above its weight. With its larger screen and overall large dimensions of 111 x 51 x 14mm, it's no surprise the Nokia X6 weighs in at 122g.

Processor: When it comes to processing power, you’ll find that the Nokia X6 shares the same processor as the Nokia 5800, Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini. This is the ARM 11 CPU, which has a clock speed of 434MHz, so we can expect apps to load as quickly and smoothly as they do on current generation of devices. It hasn't been announced what the processor in the Nokia X3 will be but we can be pretty sure it won't have the same clock-speed as the Nokia X6.

Memory: With 32GB of internal memory and support for up to a further 16GB from microSD card, the Nokia X6 is pretty much fires on full cylinders, as you'll be able to put as much content on this device as you need. Naturally, the Nokia X3 doesn't come close in capacity terms, as you'll find just 46MB of storage space on-board. You'll be able to add up to 8GB of storage via microSD, which is pretty darn good for a music player.

Camera: OK, so we get the idea that the Nokia X3 is an entry-level phone by now but that doesn't stop it from coming with a full-on camera. The 3.2-Megapixel camera comes with Extended Depth of Field, full-screen Viewfinder and even a Self Timer feature. You can take snaps up to 1536 x 2048 pixels in size and even capture video at 15fps. The Nokia X6 packs in a 5-Megapixel with auto exposure, auto-focus, Carl Zeiss Optics, dual-LED Flash, full screen Viewfinder, Self Timer and full sequence mode, making it as good, if not better than than the camera you'll find on the Nokia N97.

Naturally, the Nokia X6 is a far more accomplished handset than the Nokia X3 but when you look at the difference in aims and price of these two devices, it's pretty easy to see that both devices both hit that sweet-spot, delivering music and media the way you want it! What do you think, which device will you be opted for when they go on sale later this year? Let us know in the Comments below, we'd love to hear from you!
