The Nokia 5800 has received yet another firware update, taking it to Firmware version v31.2.008. It was hoped this update would bring with it the much-vaunted kinetic scrolling and the new user interface. Does it? Join us after the jump to find out what's inside the Nokia 5800 firmware version v31.2.008...
The Nokia 5800 has received a firmware update to version v31.2.008, which follows hotly on the heels of the update announcement made by Nokia yesterday regarding firmware update version v31.0.008.
The guys over at Symbian Guru have been lucky enough to get their Nokia 5800 firmware version v31.2.008 and can confirm that it sadly lacks the kinetci scrolling update we were hoping for. Nor, is there the new Homescreen layout. As the Guru puts it, 'it seems as though this was a maintenance release, which is unfortunate. It does, actually, include the new Ovi Maps 3.0 interface, which was revealed at Nokia World 2009.'
Remember you can update your Nokia 5800 via OTA (Over The Air), or you can always download using the Nokia Software Updater using your Windows laptop. Before you do so, backup all your files and folders, just in case the worst should happen.
How to Update Your Nokia 5800 Firmware
We still haven't received firmware version v31.0.008, so it seems our Nokia 5800 is two steps behind what should the most up-to-date version. So, we're waiting patiently and hoping it arrives in the next day or two.
