The Nokia 6760 slide, the UK version of the Nokia Surge, has just gone up for pre-order on the Nokia Online UK site. This nifty little device has been designed with social networking in mind, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and your favourite apps right on the screen. The Nokia 6760 slide is the UK version of the Nokia Surge and is a QWERTY-toting smartphone with a 2.4-inch screen, designed to keep you in touch with your contacts via IM, email and social networking services.

What's more, the Nokia 6760 slide has just popped up for pre-order on the Nokia UK site. Now, that doesn't mean it's about to ship, merely you can be among the first to get your hands on the nifty new design when it does finally ship. Features-wise there’s a 3.2-Megapixel camera (as opposed to the Nokia Surge’s 2-Megapixel snapper), A-GPS with 3D landmarks and terrain mapping, and a microSD card slot capable of supporting 8GB of storage (a 2GB card comes in the box).

Battery life runs to a whopping 500 hours standby, and five hours talk time, which is dang impressive by anyone's standards.

The Nokia 6760 slide doesn't have an official launch date yet but an earlier story would suggest that it's coming to Carphone Warehouse in October. So, we're pretty sure to see it launch with the next six weeks.
