The Nokia N86 8MP is one of our favourite N Series devices. It's the combination of a rock solid design, ease-of-use and of course the 8-Megapixel camera. The only thing that could make life a little easier would be Face Detection in the camera. What's that, it's coming in the next firmware update? Read on to find out about the Nokia N86 8MP to get Face Detection software....
Face Detection technology is coming to the Nokia N86 8MP as part of the next major firmware update to this knock-out Nokia. We've been impressed with the Nokia N86 8Mp even since we got out hands on the S60 3rd Edition device.

Now, the guys over at AllAboutSymbian have brought us some cracking news that the next firmware update for the Nokia N86 8MP will include a 'Face Detection' option – something never seen before on a Nokia handset.
What this means is that when you auto-focus the camera, half hold-down the capture button, it will automatically look for human faces and make them the main focus of the image. This is a great step forward and one we're really looking forward to, as it will certainly make life a whole lot easier!
The Nokia N86 8MP firmware update will also bring with it improved photo quality - less artefacts and better colours, as the AAS guys put it.
The bad news is that there is no official date for when this update will hit the Nokia Software Updater. We hope we're not left hanging around too long, as this looks like the kind of benefit that will vault the Nokia N86 8MP even higher in most peoples affections. We urge you to check out the AllAboutSymbian site as they have a bunch of other images and colour comparisons.
