The Nokia N97 and other Symbian S60 5th Edition smartphones look like they're about to get a new web browser. Opera Mini 5 Beta has been released and offers a quicker interface and smoother operation than previous versions of the browser. What's more, you can now see Opera Mini 5 running on a Nokia S60 smartphone....
If you're looking for a new web browser then the Opera Mini 5 Beta could well be something to take a look at. Opera Mini 5 is designed to deliver a good all-round user experience and this latest version works smoother and quicker than earlier models. The guys over at the Nokia Blog have been quick off the mark checking out how well the new web browser works on a Nokia 5530 XpressMusic, as well as a Nokia N97 and they've the video to prove it. New features include tabbed browsing and thumbnail bookmarks, as well as a host of stability and user experience improvements.
Commenting on their experiences with this new Beta version of Opera Mini 5 the guys say, 'it's a great alternative to the default browser because it loads larger pages faster. However, it does not support flash, and there are still bugs to fix.'
We've not had a chance to try it out, but judging from the video below, it's well worth getting your hands on a copy.
