It seems that Nokia Ovi Store, the one-stop-shop for all things app and theme orientating, has been having something of an update this week. We noticed you no longer need to specify which device you're using prior to searching for new apps. However, the big news is that you can now re-download any apps you've previously bought. Find out more about the Ovi Store updates after the jump...
Nokia would be the first to admit that it's Ovi Store didn't exactly hit the ground running and is very much a work in progress. However, clear signs that the development team are in there and tinkering away have been seen this week.
The good guys over at All About Symbian have revealed that Ovi Store now offers re-downloads of apps you've purchased through the store. The change is linked to the way in which Ovi Store works as apps are now linked to your Ovi account rather than to the device. This means you can now upgrade your Nokia handset and take your apps with you – previously it was a one time purchase, one time use, one device deal. So, everyone should be happy with this new arrangement.
AAS point out that re-downloads currently work with devices using the Ovi Store client version 1.05 (271) or above. The guys also point out that there are still some bugs in the system but with the Ovi maintenance guys working on improving the system we should see some leaps in stability by the end of the week.
