The Nokia N97 has come in for some special attention this week from the Nokia Ovi Store, with a clutch of new apps designed to especially to make the most of this flagship handset. Pets like You is a fun little app that will appeal to anyone who owns a pet or knows someone who is starting to look like theirs! The Nokia Ovi Store is gearing up to launch three new apps exclusively for the Nokia N97, Facebook Birthday was the first, Newton's Cradle the second, and the third and final one for this week is Pets Like You.

How it works is quite neat, simply make take a snap of a friend using the Nokia N97's 5-Megapixel camera, then upload it to the Pets Like You app and the app will return an image of an animal you most look like. Fun and frivolous, it looks like a good game to get a children's party warmed up.

Nokia is also toying with the idea of creating a Celeb Like You version, which will work on the same principle but pair you with your celeb look-i-likey. Naturally, we already know we're already a dead-ringer for Johnny Depp, so we won't be needing this version, ah em.....

Pets Like You for the Nokia N97 will be released within the next couple of weeks and while there are no firm plans for the app to be released for other devices, it looks like the app will support all Symbian S60 platforms, as well as Series 40 devices, we'll just have to wait and see which handsets get support.

Pets Like You will be available from Nokia Ovi Store in October.
