Vodafone has announced that its Vodafone 360 application, which brings social networking and apps together in one interface, will launch before Christmas and have built-in support for Nokia handsets. However, we've been doing a little digging around and Vodafone 360 looks like it won't support Nokia touchscreen devices. Find out more about Vodafone 360 Nokia devices after the jump....
Vodafone has announced it's own Vodafone 360 internet service that will deliver integrated contacts, music, photos and mapping services all from one single interface, which in many respects will be going head-to-head with Nokia's Ovi Store.
According to the Vodafone 360 website you'll be able to back up and synchronise all your contact information from your phone to secure servers, and access it from your laptop or handset. What's more, you can manage your contacts, email and IM services in one place as well as chat to friends on different IM services.
In the first instance, Vodafone 360 will be launched with the application pre-installed on just four Nokia devices - the Nokia N96, Nokia N85, Nokia 6210 and Nokia 6730. All four of these handsets use the Symbian S60 3rd Edition version of the operating system, so you won't find any touchscreen support there.
We've had a chat with Vodafone and it seems other Symbian S60 3rd Edition users will be able to get a hold of the app by downloading the app when the site goes live. You can check the list of Nokia devices supported by Vodafone 360 but none of them are touchscreen enabled. So where does this leave devices like the Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 and the upcoming Nokia X6? It certainly seems out in the cold for the moment. Here's hoping the next generation of the software comes with touchscreen support, so all Nokia users will at least have the option to try the Vodafone 360 service if they wish to.
