The Nokia N96 has received a firmware update to version 30.033 that not only brings with it a bunch of user improvements, it also adds the Nokia Facebook app directly into the device itself. Find out what else the Nokia N96 firmware update has to offer after the jump...

The Nokia N96 is a 2.8-inch smartphone that runs Symbian S60 3rd Edition and its just received a firmware update to version 30.033. The big news is that the Nokia Facebook client is now default with this update, so it will install onto your Nokia N96 automatically.

Aside from the addition of Facebook, you'll find that the Nokia N96 Firmware update Version 30.033 also resolves a number of performance issues that have appeared, as well as improving the ringtone audio levels.

To get this software through your device, type in *#0000# on the home screen or go to Device Manager. Select Options > Check for updates and follow the on screen prompts. It's always worth making a backup of your files and folders before checking for any update, as you never know what weird curve balls may be thrown in.

No, no, this is an update from a month ago, at least. And on my phone at least, there’s no Facebook client, for which there’s no S60 3rd Edition version yet.

I feel the same, I have the n96 updated to 30,033 (RM-472) and anything not listed facebook

Confused by this – v30 has been around for a while, and certainly I don’t seem to have any facebook app (except my seperately purchased gravity app which is superb)
