Nokia N900 Gets Full review The Nokia N900 takes the functionality of the older Nokia Tablet devices and repackages them into a slimmed down PDA device that features some design similarities with the Nokia N97. So, we get a full QWERTY keyboard sans the tilted slide function, 3.5-inch touchscreen but with a higher resolution. However, the real added bonus is the powerful Linux Maemo OS. Needless to say, we can’t wait to get our hands on especially now the first full-on reviews are appearing.

We’ve covered the Nokia N900 quite extensively of late and even managed to get our hands on one for a short time at Nokia World 2009. We're pretty smitten and if you’re already sold on the device, then it’s available for pre-order now from Nokia Online.

However, for those who require a little more coercion, the good people over at My-Symbian have done an extensive hands-on review of what the Nokia N900 has to offer. As mentioned, the Nokia N900 features a Linux based Maemo powered OS, which is a first on any Nokia . While piloting software can sometimes be risky, it seems that the Nokia N900 has nailed it, as its Maemo OS and Hilden user interface get an early thumbs up for its advanced PDA - or computer like - performance.

Again, in the looks department, the Nokia N900 doesn’t seem to disappoint, with a sleek metal-edged finish and robust plastic backing. Couple this with the same 3.5-inch size screen as the Nokia N97 but with a higher resolution WVGA  touchscreen complete with full QWERTY and stylus option. The Nokia N900 seems to fulfill its promise as an advanced PDA that can go head-to-head with the competition on looks, as well as function.

Another thing that caught our eye in the review was the advanced out-of-office apps within the device. These include, Documents to Go, PDF Reader, and Office, making the Nokia N900 a safe bet for both professionals and casual users alike.

Additionally, the Nokia N900 seems to be well poised for internet-on-the-go with its 3G, Quad band, Tri Band, 3G, and Wireless Lan connectivity. Coincidentally, it seems that Nokia haven’t forgotten about social networking either, as the the N900 has fully integrated VoIP/IM support for advanced social networking with Skype and Google Talk.

All in all, this is a pretty lengthy review, confirming that the Nokia N900 will pretty much live up to expectations. Head on over to their Nokia N900 review and check it out at length.
