The Nokia 6710 Navigator and Nokia N86 8MP are two quite different smartphones that perfectly showcase Nokia's 'no-one-solution-fits-all' design ethic to great effect. With that in mind, we thought we'd pitch the 6710 Navigator and the 8-Megpixel N86 8MP devices together to check out what makes them so unique...
The Nokia 6710 Navigator is a slider phone with a 2.6-inch QVGA display and a unique bend to the phone, giving it the nickname 'the banana phone' in some quarters. It's a full HSDPA/HSUPA (3.5G) phone that also comes with GPS and Nokia Maps 3.0, Compass, UPnP, Bluetooth 2.0, and USB 2.0. The 5-Megapixel camera with a dual-LED flash and Carl Zeiss optics rounds out the base spec.

Naturally, it's been designed with navigation in mind with a dedicated button below the D-pad that allows you to instantly fire up Maps. Once loaded you simply use the D-pad to navigate the map and get access to the walk and automative options.
Meanwhile, Nokia N86 8MP is also a two-way slide device with full support for HSDPA. What's more, it also sports a 2.6-inch screen but as this phone is aimed at the photo enthusiast, the screen is an Active Matrix OLED display, so you get the best image quality possible.

You can also make the most of Ovi maps and locations with the integrated A-GPS and included maps. However, the big sell with the Nokia N86 8MP is the 8-Megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, Tessar lens and dual-LED flash.
So you can see, while there are core similarities between these two devices, Nokia has integrated key tools making them perfect for their intended markets.
