Nokia E71: Top Five Email Apps The Nokia E71 has a fantastic keyboard that manages to be compact but very comfortable to use. Naturally, you'll be wanting to use this to send emails while on the move - these are the top five email apps we know that work exceedingly well on the Nokia E71...

Packing in a compact QWERTY keyboard and the latest in 3G connectivity, sending and receiving email is what the Nokia E71 was made for. Which one of the following apps makes the Nokia E71 sparkle for you?

Mobiquus

Size: 0.292 MB

Price: Free

Link: Mobiquus

Mobiquus is a free, Java-based push email client that works well on the E71. You need to sign up via www.mobiquus.com first, but can then access email from your usual provider via POP3/IMAP. Mail is slurped up automaticlaly by Mobiquus and pushed out to your phone.

Mail For Exchange

Size: 1.827 MB

Price: free

Microsoft Exchange servers are common in the world of business, but can be a pain to sync with your Nokia. Mail For Exchange aims to make this a lot easier by using the ActiveSync protocol to synchronise email, calendar entries, todo lists and contacts with an MS Exchange account. You will probably need the help of your company's IT department to get all the connection details, though.

Hesine

Size: 0.279 MB

Price : Free

Link: Hesine

Hesine is a freeware messaging app that can handle email, SMS and MMS. You can update Twitter and Facebook and send free SMS-like messages to other Hesine users (data tariff permitting). It probably makes the tea too.

Ovi Mail Setup

Size: n/a

Price : Free

Link: Ovi Mail Setup

Yes, we know - Ovi Mail isn't an app, it is a free email service provided by Nokia. Setting it up on your mobile can be a bit tricky, though and so Nokia's Beta Labs have released a free app that can sign you up for an Ovi Mail account and configure your E71 (or any S60 blower) to use the service just by answering a few questions.

Profimail

Size: n/a

Price: €20,50

Link: Profimail

Profimail is a full-featured email client that can send HTML mail, plain text, MMS messages, mail with attachments and more. It has a built-in file viewer for reading documents and viewing picture attachments, support for international characters and can even open ZIP archive attachments. The app is optimised for slow connections and will grab mail headers first so you can check them out before deciding to grab the full email.

So, what do you think, are these the Top Five email apps for the Nokia E71 or do you use something different? Let us know in the Comments below.

what about roadsync? it should make it into top 5..

  • Pujo

I prefer profimail. It opens html email beautifully. It also has feature theme color.

G-Joe – good call – why didn’t we think of that one? Any others?

Profimail??? it cost to much money!!! emoze cost less then half of it!!! and work much better in anyway.

and mail for exchange take to much data so basicly you pay much more it does’t have ideal mode.
there are much better application then that.

kindly send my e71 unlock pin code

For those interested in doing a true cost analysis of Profimail vs. Emoze, keep in mind that the current, 10 Euro price for Emoze is only for a year, while the 20 Euro price for Profimail is for 3 years with up to 20 license transfers across different phones. I recommend trying the demos and using the app that you like best and offers you the best value for your needs.

Profimail does nott work with screen readers for the blind; I’ve tried it. Emoze, Roadsync and Mail for Exchange are fine though. I think Ovimail is also inaccessible to the blind. :( I’ve newly discovered Emoze and i love it! Anyone with a newer phone with Nokia Messaging, such as E72, N86 … the list goes on … should definitely give Emoze a go because it works fine with pop3 and is free with just one E-mail account. Yay! :)

Am unable to send email messages but i receive emails easily. I wonder what has gone wrong. All emails sent remain queued in the out box without being sent.
