Nokia has officially launched a new version of its Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10, which sees the software’s graduation from Beta mode to being made fully available for download from the Ovi.com. Nokia Ovi 2.0 has graduated from Nokia Beta Labs to a full blown program in its own right. The new Ovi Suite 2.0.0.10 sees Nokia consolidating its many PC applications - Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Ovi Suite 1.0/1.1, Nokia Nseries PC Suite, Nokia Music, Nokia Software Updater, Nokia Map Loader, Nokia PC Suite Enterprise Edition etc etc - into a single universal. A universe that it is hoped will allow them to concentrate on improvements and cross platform compatibility - i.e. getting it to work properly on the Apple Mac OS.

The new Ovi Suite will allow users to synch and share photos and video, as well as edit calenders and contacts, plan trips and holidays, store files and data, and download music. Currently, the new version of Ovi Suite is compatible with 142 different Nokia models - a list of these is available here (Nokia.com)
Neverthless, Nokia have confirmed that they’re planning to distribute the new Ovi Suite via device retail boxes, as well as online. Additionally, Nokia has said that it is now working on new features and improvements for 2.0.0.10 already, and has stated that Apple support is still being developed, but is “coming soon” - watch this space for more news on that...
Nokia Beta Labs has released a screen shot of the new Ovi Suite from when it was in development last year, which is designed to show you not only what they had in mind for this new 2.0 version, but also what's install for future updates, which will be made available as Beta updates in the coming months, according to Nokia. Lets just hope they make good on their promise to support Mac OSX in the future.
