The presentation may be simple - just a list of bold-face event titles with their time & date underneath - but seeing all the upcoming events in a plain list is actually quite useful. You can quickly see the next things that you will need to be concerened about, regardless of the interval between them - i.e. the app only cares what is coming next, not how long away it is.

A drop-down list (or, at least, what looks like one - more on this in a moment) lets you select between different categories of event (to-do, meeting, etc.) or simply 'All' to see the complete timeline. Events can be filtered by whole or partial keywords using the search box in the corner of the screen.

Is this worth £3.00? Well, if you find this kind of clear presentation useful then you might be able to justify it to yourself, but we found it a tad overpriced. It is certainly better looking than the default calendar views that come with your Nokia, though, although there are enough niggles to put you off even if you like the way the app looks.

Our first major disappointment is that this is even a standalone app. This is crying out to be a home screen widget - having to launch the app, which seems unable to keep running in the background, is a pain. Secondly, although the display is clear, the user interface needs a bit of work.

That handy drop-down list? Fake. You tap it and it pops up an OS-level selection list that is totally out of keeping with the clean and tidy look of the rest of the app. Most annoying of all is a bug which means that even the fake drop-down won't work if you have a search term entered in the search box. Just shoddy, really.

Although you may find it useful, Quickview Calendar Pro seems poorly implemented and lacking in both features and polish. Charging £3.00 for it is a bit of a cheek.
