Windows 7 has launched world-wide, which means that you'll be able to get your hands on any array of new PCs running the new OS. However, there is only one mini-laptop we want to get our hands on and that's the Nokia Booklet 3G. The question is, will we be getting our hands on this 3G connected device any time soon? Let us investigate....
Nokia’s first steps into the competitive world of mini-laptops is steadily gathering momentum with the Stateside release of the Nokia Booklet 3G as well as the European release of it in Germany from today - 22nd October - on O2 Germany. The Nokia Booklet 3G, which ships with Windows 7, has some impressive features and specifications - but which UK carrier will it be on, and when are we likely to actually see it in the UK?

The Nokia Booklet 3G, like most mini-laptops, is designed for portability, on-the-go connectivity, and entertainment. Looks wise, the Nokia Booklet 3G has to be the best looking and sturdiest of the bunch. After all, it's extremely slender, constructed from a single piece of aluminum and measuring less than 20mm in thickness.
In addition, the Windows 7 powered netbooks supports supports WLAN, 3G HSPA, Bluetooth and built in GPS designed to work with Ovi Maps - could this mean it's the first platform for Mobile Ovi Maps ‘Good Things’?

While details about both the UK carrier and release date are a little sketchy at present, reports have suggested the Nokia Booklet 3G will surface before Xmas, and considering O2 have the rights in Germany, it’s looking quite likely that we’ll get the same deal over here in the UK - although this is just speculation at present, with both Orange, Vodafone and 3 also being equally capable potential carriers.
The Nokia Booklet 3G is priced at £229 for the German market with an additional monthly charge of £18 over 24 months. In addition to these fees, there’s an optional flat-rate data tariff of £23 per month.
This isn’t the first time Nokia have made technology available in Europe before the UK - the Nokia N900 was available for pre-order in Germany and Italy before the UK - which makes it look even more likely that the mini-laptop will be landing in the UK just in time for the festive period.
Overall, the Nokia Booklet 3G looks like quite a fantastic prospect, packing in quite a lot of technology for your money, such as Windows 7, a 120GB hard drive, a 10.1 inch High Definition screen, an Accelerometer, and a Intel Atom processor Z530 (1.6GHz).
So what do you think, will the Nokia Booklet 3G be going on any of your Xmas wish lists, and would you have any preference on a specific carrier, considering O2 currently offer the best data tariff? Tell us what you think in the Comments below.
