Ovi Contacts 1.20 became available to download on our Nokia 5800 over the weekend. It downloaded Over The Air (OTA) in a little over a minute and installed with ease. Find out how we've been getting on with it in our Ovi Contacts review...
Nokia Contacts 1.20 is here and takes full advantage of your Nokia 5800 touchscreen, making it a whole lot easier to use. If you've ever used Nokia Chat then you'll know what to expect from Ovi Contacts 1.20, as this social networking app is now an integral part of the Nokia Contacts experience. If you already have an Ovi account then getting started with this social networking app is extremely easy.
Once installed it adds a tab next to your main Contacts list and allows you to stay in touch with friends, let them know your location and even what music you're listening too at the moment. In the main Profile you can set your Status, whether free to chat, away, do not disturb or invisible. Still being a Beta app there is the odd bug, for instance, when you tap to change your status while it shows a drop down menu this actually doesn't work and a dialogue box pops up.
You can add friends who also have Ovi accounts, or use Google Talk at the push of a button but for other accounts you'll need to add extra details. Once set up it's incredibly easy to manage and makesĀ social networking on your Nokia 5800 a whole lot easier.
Ovi Contacts 1.20 is available for all Nokai Symbian S60 5th Edition smartphones, as well as most 3rd Edition smartphones too. That said, we'd check the Nokia Beta Labs site before installing for your particular handset.
