When new smartphones enter the market, they inevitably have a few bugs the developers have missed rattling around in them. In this sense, the Nokia N97 was no exception. Fortunately, the long awaited version 20 firmware update has finally landed and is available for UK users. Read on after the jump for more details...
We reported on the Nokia N97 version 2.0-firmware update earlier in the week, which outlined the benefits of the update as improved scrolling, an updated Ovi Maps 3.1, Nokia email, Ovi Contacts and Ovi Store, as well as an overall improvement in battery life and memory.

However, the update has only just gone live in the UK - again, you have to ask: why are we always last? Nevertheless, be sure to get your hands on the update asap, as it’ll make a significant difference to your Nokia N97. To highlight the changes on offer, Nokia has released this rather abstract video (below) that pretty much tells you all you need to know.
There has now been an official posting on the Nokia Software Updater allowing all users to get a hold of the update. Interestingly, while the update shows up on the device, it requests that the update can only be made using the NSU. There have been a few reports that Ovi Maps 3.1 doesn't come as part of the update. However, on our Nokia N97 we found it in the software updater, so will have to be updated separately.
