The good people at ElectricPig reported this week that developers are currently working on a Symbian port for Sonos, so you’ll be able to control a Sonos Music System with Nokia devices, specifically the E-Series.
Tiggit Controller is a project that set out to build a remote control system for the Sonos Music System that could run on the Blackberry platform. Fortunately, the Tiggit Controller for Blackberry is now available, which means we should hopefully be seeing some developments in its Symbian counterpart pretty soon.
“I am very keen to port tiggit controller to Symbian to allow it to be used on the Nokia E-series phones. I have already separated the core ‘business’ logic of interacting with the Zone Player in to a separate pure J2ME library,” said the Tiggit Controller developer in a blog posting.
At present, there is still development work going on with regards to a Symbian based controller, which is partly down to the fact that Symbian requires a much cleaner set of UI widgets. However, it’s only a matter of time before we some real developments in this project...
