Google has pretty much revolutionised the internet - in fact, it’s actually quite hard to even think of the internet without the word Google springing to mind. In the past they’ve given us probably the best search engine on the web, then email and Docs, then Maps and Street View, and now they’ve developed a voice recognition service, which is now available for Nokia S60 devices. The new Google voice search, which has been out on the iPhone and Blackberry for quite sometime now, allows the user to do away with typing and messing around with keypads and touch screens, as all you have to do is press down the button, say your search term, and hey presto, it’s displayed in Google.
One of the main benefits of this function is the amount of time it’ll save you when browsing the web - just think, how long would it take you to type in, ‘London pubs that serve organic scrumpy.’ It’s so much quicker actually saying something than typing it, so much so, that overall you’ll probably clock up enough saved time to take up a hobby.
You can additionally use the voice recognition service to find out numerical values, such as what is 189g in Stones, or 45789 times 23157. Basically, you’ll be able to do everything you could before in Google, just much faster.
As an added benefit, the function now recognizes Mandarin, the most spoken language in the world, which is certainly handy if your attempting to learn it, as you get a free practice application to boot.
